Evaluation of iron prophylaxis in children aged 4-24 months

Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the current status national iron supplementation program and utilization prophylaxis in society, taking into account factors such as education, socioeconomic status, recommendations provided by healthcare professionals. Materials Methods: A total 540 patients Children aged 4-24 months admitted Pediatrics Outpatient Clinic were evaluated a surveyed. children asked whether they used or not regular between 4 12 months. data analyzed using SPSS 22 software package Results: In our study, it was found that 50.8% did use irregularly. most common side effects reported constipation, diarrhea, vomiting. Significantly higher rates supplement observed among with parents who had education income levels. (Mother's education; p=0.026, father's p<0.001, level; p=0.015) Conclusion: fact more than half participants irregularly highlights inadequate access adequate for children. Healthcare professionals should allocate time families provide information about supplementation.
